THE MAGICAL TALE OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND IS CELEBRATING ITS 150TH BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR, AND GETTING A MAKEOVER TO MARK THE OCCASION.
Lewis Carroll's children's classic is a tale of wonder, adventure and imagination, where we dive head first into a world where anything can happen. Rabbits in waistcoats, Cheshire cats, Mad Hatters and Evil Queens are all part of the norm in Wonderland, and we at The bonnie mob have always loved this whimsical story.
To celebrate the book being 150 years old, The Macmillan Alice have asked new designers from YCN Creative Network to come up with new designs and illustrations for the book, and we think they have done a beautiful job! You can watch a video and see the finalists by clicking the image below, as well as discovering all about the history of this wonderful story.
You can get yourself one of many beautiful versions of the Alice in Wonderland book from the Pan Macmillan website, winner of the Best Bookseller Industry Awards 2015.
Many events have been put on in recognition of the anniversary, and there is still one left on the 26th September 2015 - The Bath Children's Literature Festival - Alice in Wonderland story telling with fun games and activities for children.
If you are local to the Brighton & Hove area, The bonnie mob's favourite children's bookshop is The Book Nook - they are always so helpful and can always deliver on a great present idea!
Here are The bonnie mob's picks from our latest collection to coincide with the Alice in Wonderland theme.
