Wow! Last night saw us making our way to London for the UKFT Awards ceremony at the beautiful venue that is Tobacco Docks. Our new rebrand, The Bonnie mob, was shortlisted for Best Childrenswear and so we were lucky enough to be invited up for the fabulous event. The Natwest UK Fashion & Textile Awards is a celebration of the British Fashion & Textile Industry. It recognizes established and emerging new fashion businesses for creativity, design and business acumen. So we were really proud to be nominated and shortlisted for this.
Tobacco Docks is a Grade 1 listed warehouse, a gigantic maze of industrial frames that can house beautiful events within its walls. Nestled in the Docklands area of East London, we were treated to a slap-up 3 course dinner, impeccably perfect looking canapes and lashings and lashings of champagne. There was such a huge range of fashion industry people and many other shortlisted brands to rub shoulders with and we were pleased to be seated the fabulous Alice and Ed from the winners of the Rise Newcomer Award, Alice Made This, and last years winner of the same award, Bola from African inspired swimwear brand, Okun.
Highlights include seeing HRH Princess Royal handing out the awards, doing a bit of celeb spotting and it was super cute to see the gorgeous little girl who stayed up really late to walk the catwalk, wearing an outfit from our next seasons collection. Well done!
So, we ate, and drank and laughed and it was a shame that we didn't win the award, but we had a fantastic night anyway, so thank you to UKFT for organising such a splendid evening and well done to Tootsa for scooping the prize.
To top it off, the entire event was raising money for the wonderful SAVE the CHILDREN charity, so we were pleased to be part a night that hopefully raised much needed funds for such a worthy cause. Looking forward to the next one already ...;)
