Amber and Peter Lok are proud parents to MoMo twin girls Leia and Lauren. Monoamniotic-Monochorionic twins share the same amniotic sack and are always identical.

We chatted to Amber to find out what life is like with twins. Find out more below…
HI AMBER, YOU ARE MAMA TO TWIN GIRLS LEIA AND LAUREN AND DOCUMENT YOUR ADVENTURES ON INSTAGRAM (@LEIALAUREN). WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO START YOUR FEED?
We wanted to document their journey as they grow, which is significant to us as they were born premature. Instagram’s simple interface makes it so much easier for us to share their pictures and experiences with family and friends who constantly want updates. On top of that, we are able to connect with the like-minded community to learn and share experiences, being first-time parents.
HOW DID YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND FEEL WHEN YOU FOUND OUT YOU WERE HAVING TWINS?
It was a total surprise! I will never forget that day, it was a mix of overwhelming emotions, we felt incredibly blessed to have 2 babies at a time, but yet was so worried and uncertain of how we were going to cope.

DO YOU HAVE IDENTICAL TWINS IN YOUR FAMILY?
Fraternal twins do run in my side of the family, however MoMo twins are not hereditary. They are truly God’s blessings!
BEING MOMO TWINS, DO THE GIRLS HAVE A VERY SPECIAL BOND?
They naturally have a very strong bond. They surprise me everyday with little things that they do for each other without us telling them to. It’s amazing and heartwarming to know that they will always have each other to hold on to.
AND HOW DO THEIR PERSONALITIES DIFFER?
They have opposite personalities but share similar interests - Leia is a reserved and observant child whereas Lauren is the jovial and cheeky one. Both of them love music and enjoy a little dance or two. They prefer the same books and toys. Very interesting dynamics between these two!

WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU MOST ABOUT BEING A MAMA OF TWINS?
Double the babies isn’t really double the work! We feed and put the kids to bed at the same time, so as long as a routine is set in place, it is surprisingly manageable. Now that they are toddlers, they have each other to play with and that gives me more time than I thought I would have.
AND WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT MOTHERHOOD?
Watching my babies grow into their little characters is the best part. They reflect a purer and more innocent version of myself and my husband and inspire us to slow down and really just enjoy the little things in life with them. They motivate me to be the best mom I can be and I find that extremely rewarding.
WE LOVE FOLLOWNG THE TWIN’S ADORABLE STYLE. HOW DO YOU PICK OUTFITS FOR THEM?
Leia and Lauren are very active and love to be outdoors so very often you will see them in casual and sporty outfits such as rompers, tees and shorts for comfort. They have recently started to pick their own outfits from their wardrobe and are obsessed with quirky prints so I tend to pick outfits for them based on their favourite elements.

YOU LOVE TO TRAVEL AS A FAMILY. HOW DO YOU MANAGE WITH TWO TODDLERS?
My husband and I used to travel so spontaneously before and we were such adrenaline junkies. With our children in the picture, our spontaneous travel style has since taken a shift to slower pace travel. Now there is a whole lot of planning and consideration before any trip, from hotels to activities to fit into the kid’s routine. I guess it makes it easier that both my husband and myself are very hands-on parents to our girls.
AND FINALLY, WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE OUTFITS YOU CHOSE FROM THE BONNIE MOB’S AW17 COLLECTION?
It is exactly what our kids love! The bonnie mob’s AW17 collection has such distinctive quirky prints on soft beautifully-coloured fabrics which make each piece a standout. We particularly love that there are full matching suits that would complete the look on the girls!
