This policy explains how the bonnie mob collects and uses your personal information when you visit thebonniemob.com, shop with us or sign up to hear from us, and the choices you have.

Who we are

The data controller is Tracey Samuel Design Ltd, trading as the bonnie mob, registered in England and Wales, company number 04210975. Trading address: 1st Floor, 16 Kingsthorpe Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 5HR. For anything to do with your data, email customercare@thebonniemob.com.

What we collect

Order details: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number if you give it, what you've ordered, and any personalisation or gift message you add.
Payment details: these are handled securely by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
Account details: if you create an account, your login email and order history.
Messages: anything you send us by email or through our contact form.
Marketing preferences: if you sign up to our emails, your email address and how you engage with our emails.
Reviews: if you leave a review, your name and what you write.
Browsing information: your device, browser, IP address and how you use our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookies Notice.

How and why we use it

To process and deliver your order, handle returns and answer your questions. Our legal basis is to perform our contract with you.
To keep records we're required to keep, such as accounting and tax records. Our legal basis is legal obligation.
To send marketing emails, only if you've signed up. Our legal basis is your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
To understand how our site is used and to show relevant adverts, through analytics and advertising cookies, only where you've agreed through our cookie banner. Our legal basis is your consent.
To keep our site secure and prevent fraud. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our business and customers.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with the companies that help us run our shop, and only what they need:

Shopify, which hosts our website and checkout.
Payment providers including Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal and Google Pay, to take your payment.
Global-e, which processes our international orders, payments and deliveries.
Delivery companies, such as Royal Mail, to get your parcel to you.
Partner brands: some items on our site are sent directly by partner brands we stock. If you order one of these, your name, delivery address and order details are shared with that brand so they can send it to you.
Klaviyo, which sends our marketing emails.
Judge.me, which collects and shows product reviews.
Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for analytics and advertising, where you've consented to those cookies.

We never sell your personal information. We may also share information if the law requires us to.

International transfers

Some of the companies above are based, or store data, outside the UK, for example in the United States or Canada. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.

How long we keep it

Orders and accounting records: six years from the end of the financial year, as required for tax purposes.
Customer service messages: up to two years.
Marketing: until you unsubscribe. We then keep a note of your email address so we don't contact you again.
Accounts: until you ask us to close your account, subject to the order records above.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to ask for it to be transferred, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email customercare@thebonniemob.com. We'll respond within one month.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to make our site work, and, only with your consent, analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie preferences on our site. Full details are in our Cookies Notice.

Children

Our site is for adults shopping for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first and we'll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
