Can baby knitwear go in the washing machine?

Yes — every bonniemob knit is machine washable, cashmere blends included. Use a wool or delicate cycle at 30 with a gentle detergent.

Can I tumble dry a knitted cardigan or jumper?

We don't recommend it. Heat and tumbling shrink and felt natural fibres, soften the elastic recovery in cuffs and ribbing, and lift surface fibres so colour dulls and pilling starts. Dried flat and eased back into shape while damp, a knit keeps its shape and its colour for years.

What does fully fashioned knitwear mean?

Fully fashioned is the finest way to make a knitted garment. Rather than cutting shapes from a length of knitted fabric, each panel is shaped on the machine itself — stitches added and dropped to form the armhole, the shoulder, the neckline. Because nothing is cut, nothing is thrown away: a fully fashioned garment uses considerably less yarn than a cut-and-sew one, with none of the offcuts that ordinarily end up as waste. There are no raw edges hidden within the seams either, so the knit holds its line through years of wear. It gives fine knitwear its signature details — the fully fashioned marks running up the raglan, ribbing that meets the body cleanly, a shoulder set exactly where it should sit. Slower to make and more generous with time — and the reason a bonniemob cardigan is still beautiful on a second, third or fourth child.

Is cashmere practical for a baby?

Very. The bonniemob cashmere is blended with organic cotton, the cotton gives it a practicality and strength, so it's machine washable on a wool cycle. Cashmere fibre is exceptionally fine, making it luxuriously soft against new skin and warm for its weight.

What sizes does the baby and kids knitwear come in?

Newborn and infant sizes through toddler and kids', from birth to nine years. Sizing is by age, with a size chart for measurements.

What is the difference between a jumper and a sweater?
