Coats, jackets, snowsuits and pramsuits

Four garments doing four slightly different jobs. A padded jacket is the everyday one — on over a jumper for nursery drop-off, the park, the school run. A snowsuit or pramsuit is the all-in-one: legs, arms and body in a single piece, so nothing rides up and no gap opens at the back when a baby is lifted in and out of the pram. Babies who cannot yet walk stay warmer in an all-in-one; once they are on their feet and want to climb, a jacket gives them more freedom.

GRS certified recycled polyester

The bonniemob outerwear is made from GRS certified recycled polyester — shell, lining and padding — spun from used textiles and PET plastic bottles. GRS is the strictest recycled-materials certification available. It traces the fibre back through the supply chain, restricts the chemistry used along the way, and sets standards for the working conditions of the people who make it. That last part matters as much to us as the fibre does.

Water repellent, without the forever chemicals

The shell carries a BIONIC-FINISH® ECO coating: water repellent and breathable, and free from PFCs and fluorocarbons, formaldehyde and paraffin. Most water-repellent finishes on the market still use fluorocarbons, which break down extremely slowly and accumulate in the environment. This one does the same job without them, so rain beads and rolls off and the coat still breathes when a toddler is running.

The details that earn their keep

A fleece-lined hood. Soft against the cheeks and ears, and warm without being bulky.

A storm flap over the zip. It sits between the zip and the chin, so nobody gets pinched at the top of the pull.

Ribbed cuffs. They grip the wrist and keep the weather out of the sleeve.

Detachable mittens. On the baby sizes, 0–24 months, so small hands stay covered without a mitten going missing in a puddle. The snowsuit has detachable booties as well.

Washing and care

Machine washable at 30. Zip it up before it goes in, wash it on its own or with soft items, and let it dry naturally rather than on a radiator — high heat is what flattens the padding and shortens the life of a water-repellent finish. Done that way, a good coat comes out of the loft the following autumn looking much as it did going in.
