BRING THE KIDS! - Feature mum, Laura Hall from Kid & Coe

by The Bonniemob on November 05, 2015

As we are very happily based on the Sussex coast, our Bonnie mobs are always happy by the seaside, rain or shine. And there is nothing more lovely than a brisk walk taking in the salty sea air in our cashmere, then being cosy near the fire with a hot chocolate.

This week, we have asked feature mum, Laura Hall of family travel website, Kid & Coe to share her favourite UK seaside resorts. (Kid & Coe source all the best personal home rentals from around the world that are fully equipped for all the demands of family travel. From New York to Sri Lanka, a huge amount of destinations are covered so you'll be spoilt for choice! )Laura was born in Brighton, so she knows her seasides...

"I love the tang of salt in the air when I’m by the sea. I put it all down to the fact that I was born with a view of the sea in Brighton and Hove general hospital and spent my first few years living there, playing on the pebbles and being pushed along the promenade.

I’m always trying to find a way to spend more time at the seaside, and to bring my own kids with me. Even when it’s raining, there’s no better place to be than beside the sea. These are my favourite places on the Kid & Coe website to book for a family seaside getaway. Now all you need are cotton cashmere jumpers, a baby blanket for little ones and a rainproof coat and you’re away!

This spacious house is near to London Road station and has toy-packed kids rooms, rustic furniture, brightly-coloured mugs and a lovely garden space for when the sun shines. My main Brighton beach tip is to avoid taking your kids to the nudist area by accident. Thanks mum and dad!

It’s easy to get to Suffolk by train from London; what you don’t realise is quite how far away from modern life you’ll feel once you get there. It’s the perfect place to roam hedgerows and play on quiet pebble beaches. This home has play spaces in the garden and a wood burner in the lounge perfect for wintry days.

For a big family getaway, I’d pick The Cob, which sleeps up to 9 and is in Bude, where there is a choice of three beaches plus a brilliant 1930s sea pool that fills up when the tide is in. The sea temperature is supposed to be warmest in November, so why not?

This former fisherman’s cottage is perfect for a long weekend by the sea. Play on the beach - right outside the front door - and cycle down the promenade to Deal itself. There’s even a pub next door serving kid-friendly grub.

The team at Kid & Coe know what it’s like to travel with kids. We are our audience, the mothers and fathers who travel, and understand what makes family travel irresistible yet tricky. We are part of the social networks, play groups and industry organizations that affirm the need for our one-of-a-kind kid-friendly accommodation and resources. And we aim to provide a service that exceeds every family’s needs.

Founder Zoie Kingsbery Coe created Kid & Coe out of personal necessity. For years she had been traveling the world managing her husband's music career, kids in tow, and saw that the hotel accommodations that suited a touring couple no longer fit the needs of her growing family. Zoie began seeking out kid-friendly property rentals that made her family feel at home wherever they were in the world. As increasing numbers of parents asked Zoie to share her travel expertise and property secrets, Kid & Coe was born. The US based company was established in early 2013, and is located in New York.
