Who are Babiators?
A children's eyewear brand founded in 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia by two American couples, Molly and Ted Fienning and Carolyn and Matthew Guard, who started it from their kitchen tables. It has grown into one of the best known names in kids' sunglasses.
At what age can a baby wear sunglasses?
From babyhood upwards — Babiators make frames sized for babies through to older children. A soft flexible frame and a strap make all the difference to whether they stay on.
Do Babiators sunglasses protect against UV?
Yes. The lenses block 100% of UV rays, which is the part that matters for protecting young eyes.
What does polarised mean, and do I need it?
Polarisation cuts glare reflecting off water, sand and wet roads. It is not the same as UV protection — that comes from the lens coating and is on every pair. Polarised lenses are worth it near water or on bright days, mostly because a child who is not squinting keeps their sunglasses on.
Are Babiators sunglasses durable?
That is rather the point of them. The frames are flexible rubber that bends and twists instead of snapping, and the lenses are impact and shatter resistant.
What are the Babiators Eco sunglasses made from?
Recycled ocean-bound plastic, with a recycled polyester storage pouch that doubles as a cleaning cloth. The lenses and construction are the same as the standard range.
Why does the bonnie mob stock Babiators?
Because we have used them on our own summer shoots for years and they have never disappointed. Beautifully made, genuinely tough, and colourful in a way that makes a child want to wear them.
